“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.~Jeremiah 29:11

Where is Christ calling St. Peter’s to go? What is Christ calling St. Peter’s to do? How will we answer Christ’s call?

This is the challenge that the St. Peter’s Long Range Vision Team is trying to address, creating a vision for the future ministry of St. Peter’s that grows and evolves its ministries to meet the calling and challenges Christ gives us. We are attempting to discern who we are and who we want to be as a church community moving forward.

The next step in the Jeremiah Project visioning process is for the church to hold small group discussions. These small groups will meet a total of three times over the summer. The first three “starting meetings” will be held on June 2, 4 and 5. Sign up for just one “starting meeting”. The subsequent two dates for the group to meet will be decided at the first meeting by the groups themselves.

We are asking all members of the church and the St. Peter’s community to participate in these small groups. You are asked to sign up for a “starting date” using this form, or at church on the Long Range Vision Team bulletin board in the church lobby.

Ideally, we will have a mix of ages, gender and length of membership at these small group discussions. We will have singles, life partners and married members participate. We want a mix of ethnic, economic status and sexual orientations. We want friends and strangers, those on the inside and those who feel excluded, to participate. In short, we want everyone in the St. Peter’s community to participate to help us shape our future together.

This small group step is a holy enterprise, and attendance a sacred act. Please sign up. If you can’t participate in June, don’t worry, more dates will be announced soon for July and August.

Yours in Christ,

Long Range Vision Team Steering Committee
