The Social Justice Committee today reconvened after a long absence under new leadership on Sunday, March 26, in the St. Peter’s parlor after the Sunday worship service. The turnout was termed “fabulous” by new committee co-head Susan Labunski.
During the meeting the committee adopted a mission statement and discussed issues and related organizations it is interested in working with.
The Mission Statement is:
Our social justice mission is to demonstrate solidarity with underserved and marginalized communities through acts of advocacy. We strive to show them support, as well as be informative to the world around us so as tot lessen ignorance and promote understanding.
The Social Justice Committee will meet each fourth Sunday of the month in the church parlor after church. Teresa Burns is the other co-head of the committee and the secretary.
