St. Peter's was founded on May 21, 1876 where a
group of 23 "heads of families" (women were not consider heads
of families) met to form a church.
The first church was a frame structure, with the cornerstone being laid
on September 10, 1876. The old church was demolished and a new church, our
present sanctuary, was built in 1924. The cornerstone was laid on August
3, 1924.
In 1962 the education wing was build which now houses all of the Sunday
school rooms, the church offices and a friendly lobby.
For more information about St. Peter's history refer to the centennial
